Hotels near Larnaca International Airport

Larnaca Airport is just a few minutes from the city: the centre and the Finikoudes seafront are about 10-15 minutes away by car, and even the farthest hotels in the area stay under 20 minutes. This makes the choice of area less decisive than elsewhere: almost all of Larnaca, from the port to Mackenzie Beach closest to the runways, is within a short transfer, and the real difference lies more in the type of property — a large international chain or an independent apartment — than between zones far apart from each other.

Finikoudes Seafront and City Centre

7-10 km from the airport, 10-15 minutes by car or taxi to the centre and the Finikoudes seafront.

Best for: Anyone who wants the Finikoudes seafront, St Lazarus Church and the restaurants of the centre within walking distance, with a short transfer from the airport.

Pros
  • Pedestrian seafront, marina and most of Larnaca's restaurants and evening spots within walking distance of the central hotels
  • One of the shortest airport transfers on the whole list: almost never above 15 minutes
Cons
  • In high season the seafront and the seaside restaurants are very busy in the evening
  • The city beaches are urban, smaller than those on the coast outside town

Frequently asked questions

Q. Is Cyprus in the Schengen area?

Not yet as of September 2026: the accession process is well advanced but not complete. A multiple-entry Schengen visa is generally accepted as equivalent; always check the current status before departing.

Q. Can you also visit the north of Cyprus when landing in Larnaca?

Yes, crossing the Green Line at official checkpoints is common practice for tourists; do check, though, whether your rental car is authorized to cross, since many companies forbid it.

Q. Is it worth buying a Cypriot SIM when landing in Larnaca?

Yes, the desks of Cyta, Epic and other operators are in the arrivals area: since Cyprus is in the EU but outside Schengen, European data roaming works normally, but a local SIM can still be worthwhile for long stays with heavy data use.

Q. What to buy at Larnaca's duty free?

Vacuum-packed halloumi, the famous Cypriot cheese, along with Commandaria wine and zivania, the local spirit.
