Anguilla: recommended activities
Anguilla: visa and entry requirements
Anguilla is a British Overseas Territory: many nationalities, including EU countries, can generally enter without a visa for short tourist stays, with a valid passport.
Anguilla: safety
It is one of the calmest and safest Caribbean destinations, known for high-end tourism focused on relaxation. The crime level is very low.
Anguilla: health situation
The health risk in Anguilla is generally low. As in much of the Caribbean, there is a risk of mosquito-borne diseases (dengue in particular): it is useful to use repellents, especially in the evening.
No mandatory vaccinations are required for entry. Given the small size of the island, hospital facilities cover the most common emergencies, while serious cases are generally transferred to nearby islands (Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten) or Puerto Rico.
Anguilla: currency, payments and connectivity
The currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (XCD), but the US dollar is widely accepted. Cards are generally accepted at resorts, while cash remains useful for taxis and small purchases.
There are no relevant transport apps: taxis remain the island's only public transport, with fixed rates by zone.
For local connectivity, the operators Flow and Digicel offer prepaid SIM cards at their outlets.
To drive, a temporary local driving licence is generally required, issued for a small fee at the time of rental, in addition to your own national licence.
