George Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

George Airport is 7-10 km and 10-15 minutes from the city centre, a far more convenient starting point for the Garden Route than Cape Town Airport, more than four hours away by car. Those basing themselves in town find lodging a few minutes from the terminal; those instead continuing straight along the coast can stop directly in Wilderness, already in the heart of the Garden Route, about twenty minutes away.

  • Self-catering accommodation with its own kitchen, handy for a late arrival without having had dinner

  • Residential neighbourhood with no restaurants nearby
