Jorge Chávez International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
At the airport and in Callao
At the airport · The new Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport is linked to the terminal by a covered pedestrian walkway of a few minutes; the Wyndham Grand and Sleepover (sleep pods in the transit area) are inside the terminal itself. The Holiday Inn Lima Airport is about 1.6 km away, with a free shuttle running around the clock on request.
Best for: Layovers of a few hours and departures before dawn, when it pays to stay a step from check-in instead of facing the traffic toward Miraflores.
- No risk from Lima's traffic, which can triple travel times during rush hour
- Sleepover lets you rent a pod for a few hours, useful between two flights without leaving the security area
- Around it only the terminal and Callao's warehouses: there's nothing to do on foot in the evening
- For downtown or Miraflores you still need 40-90 minutes by taxi depending on the time
Recommended hotels in this area
- Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport: Opened in mid-2025 inside the new terminal: direct covered walkway from the arrivals area, soundproofed rooms with runway views and a shared shuttle every 30 minutes for those arriving at the older area.
- Holiday Inn - Lima Airport by IHG: About 1.6 km from the terminal with a free shuttle around the clock on request, roughly every 15 minutes according to reviews; indoor pool and breakfast flagged as a strong point.

Miraflores
Neighbourhood · 17-18 km from the airport, reachable by taxi or app in 40 minutes outside rush hour but as much as an hour and a half between 7-10 and 17-20, when average speed drops below 15 km/h; typical fare 40-60 soles (about 15-20 dollars).
Best for: Those with at least one free night who want the waterfront, Larcomar and Miraflores' restaurants within walking distance.
- Malecón, seafront parks and the Larcomar shopping centre within walking distance of the waterfront hotels
- The liveliest area in the evening, with restaurants and nightlife concentrated around the Óvalo and Larcomar
- The transfer from the airport is Lima's longest and most variable, so flights need extra margin
- Room rates higher than in Callao or San Isidro

- Plaza Mayor, the Convent of San Francisco and Plaza San Martín within walking distance
- Transfer from the airport shorter than to Miraflores or San Isidro
- Little nightlife or quality dining compared with Miraflores
- An area to avoid on foot after sunset away from the main streets
Recommended hotels in this area
- Sheraton Lima Historic Center: Art Deco hotel with 437 rooms linked to the convention centre, 7 minutes on foot from Plaza San Martín; the international property closest to the colonial centre.
