Stord Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Stord airport, at Sørstokken, is about 13 km from Leirvik, 15-20 minutes by car or taxi: there are no direct buses, and most travellers rent a car even just for a few days of layover. The real hotels are all in Leirvik, the centre of the island of Stord, while the rest of the area's listings are apartments for workers at the nearby Aker Solutions shipyard, in Eldøyane, further from the airport. The quarter-hour transfer is necessary regardless, whichever hotel you choose.
