Tromsø Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Tromsø-Langnes airport is on the same island as the city centre, about 5 km away: by car or with the express bus you reach the centre in 15-20 minutes, a short transfer compared with most of the region's other arctic airports. For most stays the centre is the better choice, with the cathedral, the harbour and the restaurants within easy reach and the cable car to Mount Storsteinen not far away. Those with a flight before 6 or a connection of a few hours can instead stay at Langnes, a kilometre from the terminals.

Best for: Early-morning departures and short layovers, when you don't want to depend on the bus into the centre.
