At Frankfurt choosing a lounge starts with one question: are you flying Lufthansa or not? In Terminal 1 almost all the lounges carry the German airline's brand and are divided by tier, while Terminal 3 gathers the lounges of other airlines and an independent lounge that is also open to those who pay.
In Terminal 1 the Lufthansa lounges follow a precise hierarchy. The Business Lounges are in areas A, B, C and Z; the Senator Lounges, reserved for holders of eligible status, in areas A, B and Z; the First Class Lounges in areas A and B. First class passengers also have the Lufthansa First Class Terminal, which occupies a building of its own, separate from the main terminal. The practical rule is to look for the lounge of your tier in the area of your gate.

No lounges match this filter.
Among lounges of the same tier, what makes the difference is the opening hours. In area Z the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Z opens earlier than the Senator in area B, and the Lufthansa Business Lounge Z shares its hours and floor. In area A the Business Lounges are on different floors, on level 2 and level 3. In area C, on the other hand, the Lufthansa Business Lounge C opens later than the other Lufthansa lounges in the terminal: anyone leaving at dawn from there will not find it open yet.
In area B there are also lounges with special rules. The Lufthansa Welcome Lounge, on level 1, is not for departing passengers: it is meant for those who arrive with an access entitlement and it opens only in the morning. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, on level 3, welcomes Business passengers and holders of eligible status, with quiet areas, showers and workstations, but it closes already in the afternoon.
Without a premium ticket, the answer in Terminal 1 is the LuxxLounge, between areas B and C on the gallery level: it is the only independent lounge in the terminal and it is located before security. You get in with Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Lounge Pass or by paying, for a few hours or for the whole day, and there is a meeting room. Since it is on the landside, you need to allow for the time of the checks before leaving it.
Terminal 3 concentrates everything in area J. The Priority Lounge, on level 5, is the reference for those not flying SkyTeam or Emirates: it welcomes those with a Business or First ticket, holders of Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Lounge Pass or Diners Club, and those who pay for timed entry, with a hot and cold buffet. The SkyTeam Lounge, on level 4, serves eligible SkyTeam passengers and those of partners such as Air France, KLM, Delta and Korean Air, with showers and a bistro-style area. The Air France Lounge, in the Schengen zone, is for Business passengers and frequent flyers with status; the Emirates Lounge, only for those flying Emirates, opens in just a few slots of the day.
At Frankfurt the criterion is first of all the terminal. In Terminal 1, with Lufthansa, you look for the lounge of your tier in the gate area, checking the opening time if you leave early from area C; those arriving in the morning with an access entitlement have the Welcome Lounge. Without a premium ticket the choice is the LuxxLounge, which you should leave in time for security. In Terminal 3 the Priority Lounge welcomes cards and paid entries, while SkyTeam, Air France and Emirates have lounges reserved for their own passengers.
