Houston IAH lounges: the right one by terminal and card

In Houston the lounges are mostly United's, with clubs scattered across almost every terminal. But anyone with a Priority Pass or an American Express card should look elsewhere, namely Terminal D, the international one, where the lounges that also open to those not flying with the home carrier are concentrated.
For United flyers the map is simple. There is a United Club on the mezzanine level of Terminal A, in Terminal C, where one is near gate C1 and one at C33, handy for those leaving from the highest-numbered gates, and another in Terminal E. You get in as a United Club member, with a premium ticket or with Star Alliance Gold status. In Terminal E, next to the club, is the United Polaris Lounge, reserved for Polaris business and first class on international United and Star Alliance flights, with an à la carte restaurant, shower suites and daybeds. Terminal B is a building site. Its United Club has been closed since January 2025 for the terminal's reconstruction and will be replaced by a new club, billed as the largest in the United network, with no confirmed reopening date. In the meantime, near gates B12-B20, there is the United Club Fly: no seating, just standing counters with charging outlets, a barista counter and cold takeaway food.

Those travelling with American Airlines or holding oneworld status have the Admirals Club in Terminal A, near gates A25 and A26, which opens very early, in time for the first morning flights. Terminal D is what changes the game for those without a premium ticket. The KLM Crown Lounge, near gate D16, accepts Priority Pass, LoungeKey and DragonPass and also paid entry, with a hot and cold buffet and alcohol included; the stay, however, is limited and in the late afternoon, at peak hours, those entering with Priority Pass may find access restricted. Opposite gate D18B the Air France Lounge works the same way, Priority Pass or payment, and has large windows over the runway; here too the stay has a limit. Also in Terminal D, on the mezzanine reached by lift from the duty free near gate D12, is American Express's The Centurion Lounge: those with the Platinum, the Centurion or another eligible card and a same-day boarding pass get in, and find a menu inspired by local cuisine, the bar and showers. The IAH Executive Club, renovated and reopened in summer 2026, is instead reserved for eligible British Airways, Emirates and EVA Air passengers. Military personnel and their families have the USO Lounge, opposite gate D8. To really rest, finally, the solution is in Terminal C: Minute Suites rents private suites by the hour with a sofa bed, desk and smart TV, and the shower is paid separately. With Priority Pass the first hour is free and the following ones cost less.
In Houston the choice depends on two things: the airline and the card. Those flying United find a club almost everywhere and, if flying Polaris on an international route, a lounge with a restaurant and beds in Terminal E. Those with Priority Pass or an Amex card should look to Terminal D, where KLM, Air France and Centurion are all in the same terminal. And those who need to sleep during a long layover can rent a private room by the hour from Minute Suites, in Terminal C.
