Zurich, the right lounge: Airside Center or Dock E
At Zurich the choice of lounge depends first of all on your destination, not on the cards in your wallet. Those flying within the Schengen area stay in the Airside Center, those going beyond take the Skymetro to Dock E, and each area has its own lounges. In both, SWISS lounges coexist with independent lounges open to everyone.
In the Airside Center, from which Schengen flights depart, anyone without a premium ticket has two open doors. The Aspire Lounge Airside Centre, renovated in 2024, welcomes everyone regardless of airline and class, with Priority Pass or by paying the entrance fee, and offers a bar and hot dishes. The Marhaba Lounge, between gates A and B, has a view of the apron but closes earlier than the nearby Aspire, and the paid entry is valid for a limited time. They are the two lounges in the area that open earlier in the morning, useful for those with the first flight.
With a SWISS ticket or the right status, in the same area things change pace. The SWISS Business and Senator Lounge A has separate entrances: the Business part welcomes SWISS and Star Alliance business passengers, the Senator part the holders of Star Alliance Gold, and both have show cooking and showers. The SWISS First Lounge (Airside Center), for First passengers and HON Circle members, has a private security check and a restaurant; a first class ticket, however, is valid only on the day of the flight. The SWISS Alpine Lounge, furnished like a mountain hut, is the SWISS lounge that closes earlier in the evening.

At Dock E, reached by the Skymetro, the lounges open to everyone have very different characters. The Aspire Lounge Midfield, above gate E52, has large windows and a wooden terrace overlooking the main runway and, when the sky is clear, the Alps. The Suite by Aspire, opened in October 2025 in place of the Aspire First Class Lounge, is a small lounge that focuses on à la carte dishes served at the table and on wines from the Zurich merchant Südhang. The Primeclass Lounge, near gate E46, adds showers, private rooms and a prayer room.
For those travelling in a premium class, Dock E has its own series of SWISS lounges. The SWISS Business Lounge E is the largest of the airline's lounges, with reclining armchairs in the quiet areas; the SWISS Senator Lounge E stands out for its whisky bar with labels from all over the world; the SWISS First Lounge E brings together a wine cellar, hotel rooms and mini suites for resting, two restaurants and a champagne bar, with a cuisine awarded at the World Culinary Awards. Those flying Emirates in First or Business, or with Skywards Gold status, have instead their own Emirates Lounge. In Dock D, finally, there are two more intimate lounges, the SWISS Business Lounge D and the SWISS Senator Lounge D, side by side.
There is also a lounge designed for those arriving. The SWISS Arrival Lounge, right after customs control and open only in the morning, offers showers, a relaxation area and a buffet breakfast to SWISS and Lufthansa First and business passengers and to Miles & More status holders.
In short, at Zurich the first filter is the departure area: Airside Center for Schengen flights, Dock E for the others. Without a premium ticket, the Aspire in the Airside Center is the simplest choice early in the morning, while at Dock E the Midfield is worth it for the terrace, the Suite by Aspire for the cuisine served at the table and the Primeclass for the showers. With a premium SWISS ticket or the right status you stay in the airline's lounges. And if you land in the morning with a day ahead of you, the Arrival Lounge solves shower and breakfast.
