Hotels near Linz Airport

Linz-Hörsching is the furthest out of Austria's five regional airports, about 14 km south-west of the centre: bus 601 takes 19-20 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof, with one departure an hour from Monday to Saturday. No hotel is close to the airport grounds, so the practical choice remains the old town around Hauptplatz, reachable on foot from the station in 10-15 minutes or with a short tram ride.
City centre

Historic centre and Hauptplatz

Bus 601 from the Hauptbahnhof, one departure an hour from Monday to Saturday, about a 19-20 minute journey, single ticket €3.40. Outside these hours, taxi in about 15-20 minutes.

Best for: Those who want Linz's main square and the Danube riverside just steps away, with a transfer that still stays under half an hour.

Pros
  • Hauptplatz and the Danube riverside are the heart of the city, with restaurants and walks just steps from the hotels
  • The transfer stays under half an hour even in the worst case, despite the greater distance compared with the other Austrian airports
Cons
  • Bus 601 runs only once an hour: those arriving or leaving outside these times must arrange a taxi
  • Since it's the airport furthest from the centre of the five, there's no point staying near the runway even for a dawn flight
