Changi → Marina Bay Sands

Getting off the East West Line shuttle at Tanah Merah, at the nearby Expo station you switch to the Downtown Line towards Bayfront, the stop right below the resort and casino: in total about 40 minutes.

Changi → Orchard Road

You travel on the East West Line to City Hall and there you switch to the North-South Line towards Orchard: a journey of about 45-50 minutes with just one transfer, or a direct taxi if you're traveling with suitcases.

Changi → Sentosa

There is no direct line: it's better to arrive by taxi or MRT to HarbourFront/VivoCity and from there take the Sentosa Express (monorail) or the cable car to get to the island.

Changi → cruise terminal

Be careful which terminal you need: the Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront, closest to the city center, is about 25 minutes by taxi from the airport; the Marina Bay Cruise Centre at Marina South Pier, used by large homeport ships, instead requires about 40 minutes and a fare of about 32 SGD.

Car rental at Singapore Changi International Airport

Established car rental companies operate from the arrivals area.

Bring with you license, passport, and credit card: the IDP is almost always an additional requirement.

Hotels near Singapore Changi International Airport

Changi is about twenty kilometres from the centre and Singapore is a compact city: even those landing in the evening reach their hotel in half an hour by taxi. That is why sleeping at the airport makes sense above all for short layovers and for flights leaving before dawn, when it matters not to depend on trains and traffic. Those with at least one full free night, on the other hand, make better use of their time in the city: with the humid heat and the afternoon thunderstorms, the evening is the best time to go out, and the choice of district weighs more than the distance from the terminal.
