On the Iron Range of Minnesota, Hibbing gave birth to Bob Dylan and holds the world's largest open-pit iron mine.

The Hull-Rust-Mahoning Mine, the world's largest open-pit iron mine, is viewed from a panoramic platform carved right at the crater's edge.

A few minutes away, the Hibbing High School, where Bob Dylan graduated in 1959, houses an opera-style auditorium built with mining revenues.

Continuing towards the centre, you visit the Greyhound Bus Origin Center, dedicated to the founding of the famous bus company born in Hibbing.

Towards evening, local restaurants enliven the downtown, rebuilt after the entire city relocated to make way for the mine.

Bob Dylan, born in Duluth but raised in Hibbing, graduated from the local high school before moving to Minneapolis and then to New York to launch his music career.

The entire city of Hibbing was physically relocated several kilometers in the 1920s to allow expansion of the iron mine, a rare urban relocation event in American history.
