Aswan International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended…

Aswan airport is about 25 km from the city centre, 25-40 minutes by taxi depending on traffic along the road to Daraw. The Corniche is home to the bazaar, the Nubian Museum and the boat landings for Philae and for day trips to Abu Simbel; on the opposite bank and on the islands of the Nile, reachable only by boat, lie the Nubian villages with their colourful houses. Nearby town · It can only be reached by boat: from central Aswan a local ferry costs about 10 Egyptian pounds and takes just a few minutes; from the airport you first need to reach the Corniche by taxi.

Best for: Travelers looking for an authentic Nubian experience, colourful houses and no cars around.
