Aurangabad Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

The airport is in the Chikalthana industrial area, just 4-5 km from the city centre: most visitors to the Ellora caves (about 30 km, 45-60 minutes by car) or the Ajanta caves (a full-day excursion, about 100 km) base themselves in Aurangabad itself, not in a hotel near the sites. Anyone who wants to stay a step from the terminal will find a small cluster of hotels right in Chikalthana; anyone who prefers a greener, quieter setting can move to the CIDCO district, about 9 km away.
