Denver International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Denver International rises on the plains 40 km from the centre, and this distance decides the choice. The A Line train covers the journey in 37 minutes, but the first train passes at 3:15 and the last at 1:20: anyone leaving earlier or landing later depends on taxis and shuttles. That is why the only hotel attached to the terminal, the Westin, is valuable on days of extreme flight times. In the centre, around Union Station, you sleep better if Denver is your destination or your base for the Rocky Mountains, because long-distance buses and trains also depart from there.

At the airport

The Westin is directly linked to the Jeppesen Terminal by a covered plaza; the A Line station is beneath the hotel and the terminal is about a minute on foot.

Best for: Dawn flights, long layovers and arrivals in the dead of night, when the A Line trains do not run.

Pros
  • From check-in to bed it is a few minutes' walk, with no shuttles or car
  • The A Line station is in the same building, for heading downtown at dawn
Cons
  • All around there are only plains and runways: to go out you need the train or a car
  • Some guests report high prices for in-house services and noisy construction work
