Grenoble-Isère Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Grenoble-Isère airport is in Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, about 45 km north of the city: served mainly by seasonal flights to the ski resorts, not by an urban hub. The Actibus shuttle reaches Grenoble's bus station in 45 minutes; a taxi takes about 35 minutes. Those flying in to ski usually continue on dedicated buses towards the Alps, without stopping in the city; those staying in Grenoble, however, find it worthwhile only in the city itself, between the station, the historic centre at the foot of the Bastille and the Jardin Hoche eco-district, not in an isolated airport area among the fields.
