Horta Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Horta Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Horta airport is 9.5 km southwest of the centre, the longest transfer among all the minor Azores islands: a taxi (queue at the arrivals exit) takes 10-15 minutes, even 20-30 at peak times, for €15-20. There are no dedicated shuttles, so anyone arriving or departing always has to factor this into their layover time. On the plus side, once in the centre, Horta's marina, Peter's Café Sport and the ferry terminal for Pico and São Jorge are all within walking distance.
