Le Havre Octeville Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Le Havre-Octeville is a small airport just 5 km from the city centre, with no dedicated shuttle: you get there by taxi in a few minutes or with the local buses that pass through the area. Being this close makes an airport zone unnecessary: even an early-morning flyer can comfortably stay in the city. Les Docks Vauban, next to the station, offer the best option for longer stays with a kitchen in the room; the centre designed by Auguste Perret, a UNESCO World Heritage site, remains the handiest for anyone exploring on foot the city rebuilt after the war.

Station

Near the airport link · From the airport, 5 km away, you get there by taxi in a few minutes or with the local buses; the station is the reference point for getting around the city afterwards.

Best for: Anyone arriving by train or who wants check-in just steps from the platforms, without worrying about the transfer.

Pros
  • Hotels 1-4 minutes' walk from the station, handy with heavy luggage
  • JOST has a panoramic rooftop and a food court open until late
Cons
  • Station district still mid-regeneration, not the liveliest in the evening
  • Some Novotel rooms partly overlook the tracks
