Palma De Mallorca Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

In Palma de Mallorca almost no hotel is really in the city centre: most of them overlook Platja de Palma, the beach of over six kilometres that runs from the airport to S'Arenal. Those with a dawn flight, a short layover or a night landing save time by staying on the Ca'n Pastilla side, the closest to the terminal and already linked to the city. Moving towards the middle of the beach, quieter hotels can be found, still right on the sea; continuing on to S'Arenal, with the EMT A2 bus from the terminal, you enter the liveliest stretch of the whole coast, with bars and clubs open until late.

Ca'n Pastilla

Airport area · about 3-5 km from the terminal, a few minutes by taxi or with the EMT A2 bus

Best for: those with a dawn flight, a short layover or a night flight who want the shortest route from the terminal

Pros

The stretch of beach closest to the terminal, useful for tight flight times
Residential district, quieter at night than S'Arenal

Little nightlife compared to the rest of the beach
Smaller beach, shared with Palma residents

Platja de Palma, the middle of the beach

Neighbourhood · about 5-7 km from the terminal, 10-15 minutes with the EMT A2 bus or by taxi

Best for: those who prefer to stay on the beach for the whole holiday, in a central area quieter than the two ends

A wide beach running continuously the whole length of the seafront
A good choice of restaurants and shops along the paseo marítimo

Cons

Further from the terminal than Ca'n Pastilla
In high season, almost all the properties are booked by tour operators
