Rajkot Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

The new Hirasar terminal, opened in 2023, sits in open countryside about 30 km from the city along the Rajkot-Ahmedabad Highway: unlike many Indian airports, no hotel has yet grown up around the site. Anyone who needs to stay overnight in Rajkot therefore always ends up sleeping in the city, 45-60 minutes by car from the terminal, whichever area is chosen. The selection thus comes down to choosing between the international chains clustered in the centre and a few independent addresses, with the distance from the airport not really making a difference.

Best for: Business trips and stopovers before continuing towards the Saurashtra coast, accepting in any case a transfer of over half an hour from the new terminal.
