Jeju City International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Jeju City
Airport area · No hotel is linked on foot to the terminal: by taxi it's 10-15 minutes (8,000-10,000 won); city buses 100 and 500, every 5-10 minutes, take about 30 minutes to downtown. The Lotte City Hotel and the Grand Hyatt also offer a free shuttle to the airport.
Best for: Early-morning departures, one-night layovers and those who want to stay close to shops, restaurants and nightlife without heading to the coast.
- At most 10 minutes by car from almost every hotel in the area, handy for dawn flights
- Dongmun Market and the Nuwemaru shopping street are within walking distance of several hotels
- Sinjeju, the district where the hotels are concentrated, is an area of offices and casinos: in the evening it offers less atmosphere than the seafront
- Without a rental car, the beaches and volcanic cones (oreum) that motivate most visits to Jeju remain out of reach
Recommended hotels in this area
- LOTTE CITY HOTEL Jeju Airport: On Doryeong-ro, in the Sinjeju district; free airport shuttle running hourly in the morning, useful for an early flight without relying on a taxi.
- Shin Shin Hotel Jeju Airport: Also on Doryeong-ro, about 5 minutes by car south of the airport: a business hotel with over 200 rooms, among the closest to the terminal despite having no shuttle of its own.
- Best Western Jeju Hotel: 3.5 km from the airport, also on Doryeong-ro: 338 rooms across 16 floors, a recognisable international chain in an area dominated by Korea-only brands.
- Grand Hyatt Jeju: In the Jeju Dream Tower twin tower, in the heart of Sinjeju: 1,600 rooms, an infinity pool with views of Hallasan and the sea, free airport shuttle 10 minutes by car.
- Ramada by Wyndham Jeju City Hall: On Jungang-ro, a few steps from Jeju City Hall and the Dongmun market; rooftop panoramic terrace with views of Hallasan, 10 minutes by car from the airport.

Aewol (west coast)
Nearby town · The red express bus 102 links Aewol station to the airport in 33 minutes; by car along the coast it's just 25-30 minutes.
Best for: Those who want the sea and cafés on the west coast cliffs and don't have a dawn flight, accepting a longer transfer from the airport.
- The coastal road Aewolhaean-ro, with cafés and venues overlooking the cliff, is among the most photographed spots on Jeju
- The beaches of Hyeopjae and Gwakji are a few minutes away by car, among the busiest on the island
- Without your own car, express bus 102 doesn't run as frequently as Jeju City's urban buses
- Every trip to the airport takes a good half hour: not advisable with an early-morning flight
Recommended hotels in this area
- Aewol Stay in Jeju Hotel & Resort: On Aewolhaean-ro, Aewol's coastal road, a few minutes' walk from the Gwomoridol tidal rocks; in-house convenience store and free parking, handy for touring the west coast without moving the car every day.

Hamdeok (north-east coast)
Nearby town · Bus 101 links the airport to the Hamdeok Beach stop in about 40 minutes, with luggage space on board; by car the trip drops to 25-30 minutes.
Best for: Those seeking one of the best-known beaches on the north-east coast and preferring to stay put in the evening, without heading back into the city.
- A few steps from Hamdeok Beach, known for its turquoise water and the clifftop walk at Seoubong
- A quieter area in the evening than Sinjeju, handy for those not looking for nightlife
- The direct bus from the airport isn't frequent: without a car you need to plan the timetable in advance
- Few restaurants beyond those in the village: for more varied dinners you need to head towards Jeju City
Recommended hotels in this area
- Ramada by Wyndham Jeju Hamdeok: About 900 metres from Hamdeok Beach, 16 km from the airport: terrace and in-house restaurant, designed for those who want to stay on the coast without heading back into the city at night.
