Rotterdam Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Rotterdam The Hague Airport is just 4 km from the centre, in the Overschie district, with a small cluster of hotels literally a step from the terminal and a bus that reaches the city in 20-25 minutes: for short layovers and early departures staying in Overschie avoids the transfer altogether. Anyone stopping to visit Rotterdam instead finds the best options along the Nieuwe Maas waterfront, at the foot of the Erasmusbrug, or close to the central station, handy too for those arriving by train from Schiphol Airport or Amsterdam. Between the two city areas the difference is one of atmosphere more than distance: the waterfront bets on views and design, the station on practicality for those who move around often.
At the airport in Overschie

Best for: Short layovers and early departures, when it pays to stay a step from check-in.

- Handy too for anyone arriving late at night, when buses to the centre are sparser

- The centre of Rotterdam still needs 20-25 minutes by bus or about 15 by car
