Tashkent International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended…

Tashkent's airport is just 12 km from the centre, much closer than in most capitals: 15-20 minutes by taxi is enough to reach almost anywhere in the city, even as far as the old town around the Chorsu bazaar. This makes the choice less about the transfer and more about the area you want to experience: the Yakkasaroy district, a few minutes from the terminal, or the modern centre around Amir Timur square, or the old town with its mosques and the great bazaar.

Best for: Early morning flights or short layovers, staying a few minutes from the terminal without giving up a new hotel.

Amir Timur and the modern centre

City centre · 15-20 minutes by car from the airport, about 8-10 km.

Best for: Those who want the city's business and cultural centre, between the Navoi Opera Theatre and the skyscrapers of the new skyline, 15-20 minutes from the airport.
