Corendon Airlines: The Turkish Charter Airline Growing on Antalya and Izmir
Corendon Airlines is part of the Turkish-Dutch Corendon group, founded by Atilay Uslu, and has been operating since 2005 with main bases at Antalya and Izmir-Adnan Menderes airports. Its positioning is that of a charter and leisure carrier, specialized in bringing European tourists to the Turkish coasts, with an offering that combines pure charter flights and seasonal scheduled services.
The fleet
The fleet numbers about seventeen aircraft, mostly Boeing 737-800 alongside the newer 737 MAX, including the MAX 9 model introduced on the highest-demand routes from 2025. For 2026 the airline plans to increase its overall seat capacity by 20%.
Routes and network
The network serves more than 140 destinations across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, with a strong foothold in the German market: from the bases of Düsseldorf, Cologne-Bonn, Hanover and Nuremberg, up to three daily flights to Antalya depart in peak periods. Alongside Turkish beach seasonality, the airline also operates charters to North African destinations such as Rabat.
Fares and baggage
Many tickets are sold both as a charter flight bundled with a vacation package and as a standalone scheduled ticket through the airline's website: baggage and change conditions differ significantly between the two modes, so it is always worth checking which of the two you are actually buying.
What passengers say
Among the European travelers who choose it for vacations in Turkey, Corendon Airlines is generally associated with competitive fares on routes to Antalya, with the most frequent criticism concentrated in the peaks of high summer season, when the load of charter flights increases the risk of cascading delays.
Corendon Airlines is a good option for those booking a seaside vacation on the Turkish coast from one of the German cities served by the airline's bases, especially in low or mid season. It is less suitable for anyone flying in the heart of the high summer season with no time margin, because the charter model concentrates many flights in the same time slots. Always check whether the ticket you bought is a scheduled flight or a package charter, because the two types have different change rules.
