Djerba-Zarzis airport is on the west side of the island, about 9 km from Houmt Souk, the main town, and 20-25 km from the strip of villages and resorts of Mezraya and Sidi Mahrez on the east side: there is no train or direct city bus, so every transfer goes by taxi (15-25 dinars to Houmt Souk) or a private shuttle booked in advance. Those aiming for an all-inclusive beach resort find almost the whole offer on the eastern side of the island, 25-40 minutes by car from the terminal; those who prefer the market, the port and the white houses of Houmt Souk stay at 15-20 minutes. There is no real hotel close to the terminal: the choice is almost always between these two souls of the island, not between airport and city.

Mezraya and Sidi Mahrez (tourist area)

Neighbourhood · 20-25 km from the airport: the Radisson Blu in Mezraya is about 20 minutes by car, while the Iberostar Mehari, further north towards Sidi Akkour, needs 30-40 minutes; no direct public bus link, only taxi or private shuttle.

Best for: Those who want the beach, pools and services of an all-inclusive resort, accepting a 25-40 minute transfer from the terminal.
