Flyone: Routes, Fleet and What to Know After the Bucharest Cuts
Founded in 2015 and operating since 2016, Flyone is Moldova's leading low-cost airline, with its main base at Chișinău airport. In 2024 it carried over 2.4 million passengers, up 20% on the previous year, opening a second base at Bucharest-Henri Coandă to serve the Romanian market as well.
History and positioning
Born as a private Moldovan initiative, Flyone quickly established itself as the dominant low-cost carrier between Chișinău and Europe, in a market where direct competition remains limited. The opening of the Bucharest base in 2025 was meant to mark direct entry into the Romanian market, complementing Moldovan growth with a second operating platform.
The fleet
The airline operates a small fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, with additional aircraft assigned specifically to the Romanian base. It is a young fleet by regional standards, designed for medium-haul routes to Western Europe and the Mediterranean.
Routes and network
From Chișinău, Flyone connects dozens of destinations including Rome, Milan, Paris, London, Dubai, Istanbul and Tel Aviv. The Bucharest base, however, suffered a clear setback in the spring of 2026: of the eleven routes announced from Otopeni, eight were canceled before they even launched, leaving only a few destinations such as London Luton, Brussels and Tel Aviv in operation.
Fares and baggage
The model remains the classic low-cost one: base fare without checked baggage, with surcharges for an assigned seat, extra baggage and priority boarding that can be bought at booking on more favorable terms than at the airport.
Flyone is the natural choice for those traveling between Moldova (or the Moldovan diaspora in Europe) and the main European cities at low fares. It is less suitable for those booking routes from the new Bucharest base far in advance, given the 2026 cancellations: before buying, it is worth checking on the official website that the specific route is still active, not just that it is still on sale.
