Fort Lauderdale lounges: one for each terminal

In Fort Lauderdale, lounges never crowd into the same terminal: each one covers a different area and a different crowd. In Terminal 1, the United Club accepts both status and a paid entry; in Terminal 2, the Delta Sky Club stays reserved for those with the right card or cabin; in Terminal 3, the newest one opens to anyone with a boarding pass.
Travelers departing from Terminal 1 with United, or with an airline that shares the agreement, will find the United Club near the escalators: besides members and Star Alliance status holders, it also admits anyone with neither of those, as long as they're willing to pay for entry at the reception desk or through the app, plus active-duty US military with their ID. It's the easiest lounge to reach for anyone without special cards in their pocket, and inside there's a business corner and bar service alongside a simple buffet, just enough to avoid boarding on an empty stomach.

Delta Sky Club

Main atrium, between gates D2 and D3

It's the newest of Fort Lauderdale's lounges and, unlike the other two, doesn't admit anyone under 21 unaccompanied by an adult.

Admission for passengers in Delta's premium cabins, members with eligible membership and holders of American Express cards with a same-day Delta flight; access is not guaranteed and depends on seat availability. Unaccompanied minors under 21 are not admitted.

Terminal 2 follows stricter rules: the Delta Sky Club, in the main atrium, only welcomes those flying in Delta's premium cabins, holding a matching status, or carrying an eligible American Express card with a same-day Delta flight, and even then entry isn't guaranteed if the lounge is full; unaccompanied minors under 21 aren't allowed in regardless, though anyone who makes it inside finds hot food alongside the bar. Anyone arriving at Terminal 3, on the other hand, finds an offer designed specifically for American Express Platinum cardholders: the Escape Lounge, the company's first Centurion Studio Partner, is also open to anyone who simply books online or pays at the desk, with a menu curated by a chef, reading corners and workstations for those who still have work to do before the flight; Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders get in free only if the flight is operated by Delta, while American Express Platinum grants free entry on any airline. In practice, anyone with just a boarding pass and no status finds more doors open at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 than at Terminal 2, where the right cabin and the right card matter most.
In Fort Lauderdale, the right question isn't which lounge is best, but which terminal you're stuck with: with Star Alliance status or a willingness to pay at the reception desk, Terminal 1 is a safe bet; with a Delta card or the airline's premium cabins, Terminal 2 is the target, knowing that entry still depends on seat availability; with an American Express Platinum card, or simply a credit card to pay with, the most convenient choice remains the Escape Lounge at Terminal 3.
