Hong Kong lounges: Cathay Pacific or the other options
Hong Kong has a huge number of lounges, most of them run by Cathay Pacific, but the choice gets trickier when you're flying another airline or only hold a premium credit card. Between lounges under renovation, multi-access lounges and commercial agreements between airlines, here's how to find your way based on your airline and your access.
At Hong Kong, the most extensive lounge network belongs to Cathay Pacific, organised more by travel class than by individual lounge: The Deck and The Pier, Business welcome Business passengers and oneworld Sapphire or higher members, while The Bridge reserves a separate area for Diamond members and First passengers. Those flying First Class instead find The Wing, First, reopened in 2026 with the new wellness space The Retreat, or The Pier, First, with its private suites and access to the same treatments. The Wing business lounge, meanwhile, remains closed for a complete renovation, with reopening not expected before mid-2027.
The Cantonese menu carries chef Neil Perry's signature, and a fireplace in the central room is made from wood salvaged after a typhoon.

The other airlines have smaller lounges but with useful agreements worth knowing. The Singapore Airlines lounge is operational again after closing for refurbishment, one floor below that of Qantas, which in turn also welcomes Emirates passengers thanks to a commercial partnership between the two airlines. The Hong Kong Airlines lounge, in the satellite concourse reached by the people mover, stays open until late at night, while the United Airlines one reopened in 2025 after years of closure for Star Alliance First and Business passengers and Gold members. The SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge, run by Plaza Premium on behalf of the alliance, remains the only one serving any SkyTeam airline without distinction.
Anyone not flying with any of these airlines still has several alternatives. American Express's Centurion Lounge only accepts Platinum or Centurion cardholders, with an anti-overcrowding rule that denies entry to those who arrive too far ahead of time. The two Kyra Lounge locations open instead with Priority Pass, LoungeKey or DragonPass, with kitchens signed by different chefs from one location to the other, while Taste by Priceless, in the same space as the second Kyra, remains reserved for holders of Mastercard World Elite and World Legend cards. The various Plaza Premium lounges, spread between the East Hall and West Hall and in part open round the clock, come in as a paid option or with Priority Pass and the American Express Global Lounge Collection; the Plaza Premium First version additionally offers a paid service with dedicated time bands.
In short, at Hong Kong the right lounge depends first of all on which airline you're flying and which travel class: those flying Cathay Pacific have the widest offering, tiered between Business and First, while the other airlines offer a single lounge with its own rules, sometimes extended to partners as in the case of Qantas and Emirates. Those without a reference airline can always rely on multi-access lounges, choosing between Priority Pass, an American Express or Mastercard card, or direct paid entry. It's worth checking in advance for any temporary closures before planning your layover.
