Brisbane airport lounges: a terminal-by-terminal guide
In Brisbane the lounges split clearly between the domestic terminal, dominated by Qantas and Virgin Australia, and the international one, where the major alliances' lounges coexist alongside a couple of options open to anyone who pays for entry. The choice mostly depends on which airline you're flying, your status, and how much a guaranteed seat matters.
In the Domestic Terminal, anyone flying with Qantas finds two tiers of lounge: the Qantas Club, open to members and status passengers, with a bar that starts pouring at midday and a children's play corner called Joey Club, and the newer Qantas Domestic Business Lounge, designed by studio Woods Bagot and inspired by the Queensland landscape, reserved for those flying First or Business or holding the highest status tiers. Anyone instead flying with Virgin Australia has a single lounge, open to Business passengers and Velocity Gold and Platinum members as well as holders of certain American Express cards, with early morning entry for early arrivals and showers available.

In the International Terminal every major alliance has its own lounge. Oneworld can count on the Qantas International Lounge, behind the News Travels store, with a buffet dining area and assisted service; Star Alliance instead has two lounges: Singapore Airlines' SilverKris Lounge, which opens only during the airline's departure time slots and also has restrooms accessible to people with disabilities, and Air New Zealand's lounge between gates 81 and 82, with two separate shower rooms and a play corner designed for families. Anyone flying with Emirates instead finds a separate lounge, open only in the evening and night slot, in line with the airline's departure times to Dubai.
For those without status or a premium ticket, two paid options remain open to everyone. The Escape Lounge, open since April 2025, was Brisbane's first lounge designed to be accessible to anyone regardless of airline, with a menu curated by a chef; the Plaza Premium Lounge offered the same kind of open access, plus Priority Pass and DragonPass, but it's closed for renovation work and the reopening date, initially announced for early December, has been postponed.
In short, anyone flying with Qantas or with an airline from one of the major alliances almost always has a dedicated lounge already waiting in their terminal; anyone who doesn't fit any of these categories can rely on the Escape Lounge, the airport's most open solution, while the Plaza Premium Lounge remains one to watch for its reopening timeline. For those travelling with children, Qantas's and Air New Zealand's lounges remain the best equipped, with play areas designed specifically for families.
