How to get to Charles de Gaulle International Airport

Paris city centre is approximately 25 km from the airport: the transfer takes approximately 45-60 minutes by RER B, slightly longer by taxi depending on traffic, often heavy.

By Car

Visitors arriving by car reach central Paris in approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

By Train

The RER B train connects the airport directly to central Paris (Châtelet-Les Halles, Gare du Nord) in approximately 45-50 minutes, with frequent services; ticket roughly 14 euros. Be careful of pickpockets on the line, which is busy with tourists carrying luggage.

By Bus

Roissybus was permanently discontinued at the end of February 2026. Bus alternatives are the Express 9517 service (2.05 euros, but requires a connection at Saint-Denis-Pleyel with metro line 13/14 or RER D) or the Noctilien night buses; for the city centre, RER B remains the most direct link nonetheless.
💡
Tips The RER B is generally the most economical and predictable way to reach the city centre, but be careful of pickpockets, a known problem on this line; keep your luggage in sight. Alternatively, taxis have a fixed declared fare to Paris depending on the bank (right or left side of the Seine).

Parking near Charles de Gaulle International Airport

Official multi-level car parks are located at each terminal with CCTV surveillance. The first 10 minutes are free, then the fee rises quickly for short stays (roughly 0.50€ per minute after the eleventh minute); for longer stays the daily rate is more economical (starting from about 50€/day for Eco parking, reachable by complimentary shuttle) or the weekly rate (roughly 160-213€), both much more convenient than the hourly rate.

How to get to Paris from CDG

By Train

The new unified Paris Région-Aéroports ticket (14€, reduced fare 7€) has replaced the previous dedicated tickets and is valid for any rail journey to/from Paris airports; RER B reaches Gare du Nord in about 35 minutes, central Paris in general in 45-50 minutes.

By Bus

The Roissybus, the historic direct link to Opéra, was definitively discontinued at the end of February 2026. Alternatives: Express bus 9517 (2.05 euros) to Saint-Denis-Pleyel with connection to the centre (Metro 13/14, RER D), or daytime routes 350/351 (2 euros, 60-90 minutes). For the most direct journey to the centre, RER B is still the better choice.

By Taxi

Official taxis apply a regulated fixed fare (arrêté préfectoral), identical by day and by night: 56 euros for the Rive Droite (north of the Seine), 65 euros for the Rive Gauche (south). Baggage included, no surcharge except from the fifth passenger.

Charles de Gaulle → Gare du Nord

It's the most convenient stop for those who need to catch a train right away: from here, Eurostar trains depart to London and Thalys/TGV to Northern Europe, and RER B gets you there in about 25 minutes with no changes.

Charles de Gaulle → Latin Quarter

RER B continues past Châtelet to Luxembourg and Denfert-Rochereau, two stops in the heart of the Latin Quarter: convenient for those staying near the Sorbonne without needing to change lines.

Charles de Gaulle → La Défense

There is no direct connection: you must get off RER B at Châtelet-Les Halles and change to RER A towards Saint-Germain-en-Laye/Poissy/Cergy, for a total of about 55 minutes; with heavy suitcases many business travelers prefer taxi.

Charles de Gaulle → Disneyland Paris

The park has its own station at the airport: the direct TGV to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy takes only 10-15 minutes, an alternative to the 60 minutes of the Magical Shuttle, which however drops you directly at the resort hotels.

Hotels near Charles de Gaulle International Airport

Charles de Gaulle is 25 km from Paris and the RER B, the most used rail link, takes 35-50 minutes to Gare du Nord and the centre, with carriages often full of tourists with luggage. That is why an airport hotel suits those with a flight before 9, or who arrive late and leave early. Sleeping in the city makes sense when there is a real night to enjoy: at Gare du Nord you board the train, at Châtelet you are already in the heart of Paris. With three terminals far apart, it pays to check which terminal your flight leaves from before booking the hotel.
