Dallas Fort Worth International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

DFW lies halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, about thirty kilometres from each, and the airport is so vast that even "nearby" hotels can require a shuttle ride. Anyone leaving early or with just one night between connections does well to stay inside the airport perimeter: traffic on the Metroplex freeways makes driving times unpredictable. For an evening out without going too far there is Grapevine, a historic town ten minutes away by train; Dallas is worth the trip only if you will stay at least one full day.

At the airport

On foot from Terminal D or Terminal C; from the other terminals you arrive by the free Skylink.

Best for: Dawn departures, tight connections and overnight layovers with American Airlines.

Pros
  • You step out of your room and you are at the security checkpoint
  • No dependence on shuttles, traffic or train timetables
Cons
  • There is nothing around apart from the terminals
  • Only two properties, both upper-mid-range

Recommended hotels in this area

  • Grand Hyatt DFW: Inside Terminal D, a few steps from the TSA checkpoints; from the other terminals you reach it by Skylink without going outside.
  • Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport: Next to Terminal C, linked by a pedestrian path; for the other terminals there is the hotel shuttle on request.
