Fuzhou Changle International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Fuzhou Changle International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Changle is the most isolated airport in this group: it sits about 50 km from downtown Fuzhou, in the district of the same name, and until September 2025 had no rail link at all. Since then, the new F1 Binhai Express line runs from right beneath the terminal to the city centre, around Dongjiekou, in about 55 minutes. Many hotels with 'Changle' in the name are actually in the town of Changle, 20-25 km from the terminal: only a handful of properties are really just minutes from the air terminal.
A few minutes from the terminal
Airport area · About 5 km from the terminal, 10-15 minutes by car; the F1 station inside the terminal can't be reached on foot from here.
Best for: Layovers of a few hours and dawn departures, before the F1 is running (the first train leaves around 6:30).
Pros
- Just minutes from the terminal, useful for anyone arriving or departing outside metro operating hours
- Lower prices than the historic centre's hotels
Cons
- Most hotels with 'Changle' in the name are actually 20-25 km away, in the town rather than near the terminal: the distance needs checking property by property.
- An area with no restaurants or shops outside the hotel
Recommended hotels in this area
- Atour Hotel Fuzhou Changle International Airport Seaport City: Among the few properties really just minutes from the terminal (about 5 km), unlike many 'Changle' hotels that are actually in the town, further away.

Historic centre and Sanfang Qixiang
City centre · The new F1 Binhai Express line runs from the terminal to Dongjiekou in about 55 minutes (opened September 2025, trains every 8-10 minutes); by taxi the roughly 50 km trip takes 50-60 minutes depending on traffic.
Best for: Anyone who wants the historic Sanfang Qixiang district and the riverside, accepting almost an hour's journey from the airport.
Pros
- The Sanfang Qixiang district, with its Ming- and Qing-style houses, can be reached on foot or in a few minutes by metro Line 1
- Much more choice of restaurants and evening life than the terminal area
Cons
- Almost an hour's journey from the airport even with the new F1 line
- On weekends the alleys of Sanfang Qixiang get very crowded with tourists
Recommended hotels in this area
- Sofitel Fuzhou Pop Hotel: Metro Line 1 entrance (Shuyuan exit B) on the hotel's ground floor, three minutes by car from Sanfang Qixiang; Hot Spring Park 9 minutes on foot.
- Hyatt Regency Fuzhou Cangshan: On the banks of the Wulong River, with river views from most of the 226 rooms; heated pool and StayFit gym.
