Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Corfu airport is just 3 km from the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: a scheduled bus (routes 5 and 6) connects the airport and the centre in about 10 minutes for 1.10-1.70 euros, though it runs every 30-60 minutes with no night service; the taxi costs 15-20 euros. Those who want the historic centre, the Liston and the Spianada can stay in Corfu town; those who have booked a resort on one of the bays to the north, such as Gouvia or Kommeno, need to allow an extra 15-25 minutes by car.
