Mehamn Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Mehamn is a small fishing village at the tip of the Nordkinn peninsula, close to the northernmost point of mainland Norway, connected by almost daily Widerøe flights. There is only one real hotel in the village, a few minutes from the airport: there is nothing else to choose, and there is no bus, only a taxi or the hotel's transfer on request.
Central Mehamn
City centre · About 2 km from the airport, 5 minutes by taxi or with the hotel's transfer on request; there is no bus service.
Best for: The village's only base, handy for those passing through towards Cape Nordkinn or the Hurtigruten coastal cruises.
Pros
- An in-house restaurant open late, handy given the scarcity of alternatives in the village
- Staff described as kind and helpful in reviews
Cons
- Simple, small rooms according to several recent reviews
- Outside the hotel the village offers very little: almost no other restaurant open in low season
Recommended hotels in this area
- Mehamn Arctic Hotel: Mehamn's only hotel, a few minutes from the airport and about 6 minutes on foot from the village chapel; restaurant with local cuisine open late.
