Minangkabau International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Minangkabau International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Minangkabau International Airport is in Ketaping, about 23 km north of Padang: the Minangkabau Express train comes right down under the terminal and reaches the city station in 30-40 minutes, with a departure every 30-60 minutes and a flat fare of 20,000 rupiah. None of the international-standard hotels is located near the airport, so even for a single night's stay before a dawn flight it's better to go down into the city than to look for something in Ketaping. By car or taxi the trip still takes 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic on the coastal highway.
