Pärnu Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Pärnu airport is a small regional hub about 6 km from the centre, linked to the bus station by line 24 (3 euros) or a 10-minute taxi ride for 7-10 euros. Pärnu is Estonia's busiest seaside town, with the old town, the small marina and the long Beach Park all within walking distance of each other: whichever of the two you sleep in, it pays to stay put, since the distances in between are an easy walk. With charter or seasonal flights often limited, many travellers still arrive via Tallinn and finish the journey by road.

Old town and marina

City centre · Bus line 24 from the airport to Pärnu's bus station, in the centre (3 euros); taxi or Bolt in about 10 minutes for 7-10 euros.

Best for: Those who want Rüütli street, the old town's cafés and the small marina within walking distance, with the sea just minutes away.

Pros
  • Rüütli street, the heart of the old town's shopping and cafés, just steps away
  • Marina and Beach Park reachable on foot, no need for transport
Cons
  • Bus 24 isn't very frequent: outside flight times it's better to rely on a taxi
  • In high season the centre fills with tourists and traffic increases on the main streets

Beach Park and the beach

Neighbourhood · Direct taxi from the airport in about 10 minutes; alternatively bus 24 to the centre and then a 10-15 minute walk to the beach area.

Best for: Those who want to wake up near the sandy beach and the large park running alongside it, accepting a ten-minute walk to the old town.

Pros
  • Sandy beach and Beach Park just steps away, among the widest and busiest on the Baltic
  • Green residential area, quieter than the centre in the evening hours
Cons
  • The nightlife and restaurants of the old town still require a walk or a short taxi ride
  • Outside the summer season the area is much quieter, with several venues closed
