Samos Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Samos Airport is about 3 km from Pythagorio, Pythagoras's birthplace on the south-eastern coast, and about 14 km from Vathy, the island's capital and main harbour. For a short layover or a dawn flight, Pythagorio is the more practical choice, reachable in under 10 minutes; Vathy instead needs 26-35 minutes between the KTEL bus and taxi, but remains the better base for those who want the harbour, the ferries and the life of the capital.
