Stockholm-Bromma Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Bromma is, to all intents and purposes, already inside Stockholm: the terminal is about 8 km from the centre, against the 40 km of Arlanda and the over 100 of Skavsta and Västerås, and it mainly serves domestic and short-haul intra-European flights. There is no direct train like the Arlanda Express: bus 110 reaches Alvik in about 20 minutes, from where the green metro line reaches T-Centralen in another 13. For this reason many travellers simply stay in the Bromma area, saving on the transfer without really giving up the city.

Bromma

Airport area · The Best Western Plus Sthlm Bromma is about 2 km from the terminal, 4 minutes by car or taxi; bus 110 to Alvik and the metro depart from the terminal itself.

Best for: Short layovers and those who want to stay a few minutes from the terminal while already formally in Stockholm.

Pros
  • No need to travel all the way to the centre to sleep comfortably after an evening flight
  • Bus 110 is coordinated with flight times on weekdays, from 6 to 21:30
Cons
  • Bus 110 runs less often on weekends, with the first departure only at 9:30
  • A residential and industrial area: little to do on foot in the evening

Recommended hotels in this area

  • Best Western Plus Sthlm Bromma: On Ulvsundavägen, about 2 km and 4 minutes by car from the Bromma terminal; also useful for those continuing on to Arlanda, 40 km away.

Åkeshov and the green side of Bromma

Neighbourhood · Åkeshofs Slott is about 1.9 km from the Bromma terminal, 10-14 minutes by car or taxi depending on traffic.

Best for: Those looking for a quiet stay in a nineteenth-century country manor, while still staying a few minutes from the terminal.

Pros
  • Its own park and gardens around the historic building, away from city traffic
  • Breakfast served in the manor house, among the most mentioned aspects in reviews
Cons
  • No direct public transport from the property: even just for Alvik you need a taxi
  • The rooms are in the former servants' annexe, simpler than the main villa

Recommended hotels in this area

  • Åkeshofs Slott: A nineteenth-century castle turned hotel and conference centre, about 1.9 km from the terminal; the rooms are in the annexe, with breakfast and sauna in the main building.
