Yeager Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Yeager Airport sits on a plateau east of Charleston, connected to the rest of the city by mountain roads: even though the straight-line distance is tiny, getting downtown still takes a good quarter of an hour. Those with a short layover or a dawn flight do well to stay near the runway, while those staying for work at the Capitol or the Civic Center find more choice and restaurants down in the city center; Southridge, on the other side of the river, remains a practical alternative along the highway.
