Hotels near Bengaluru International Airport

Bengaluru airport is in Devanahalli, about 40 km north of the centre: there's still no direct rail link, because the extension of the Namma Metro to the airport is still under construction, so the only real alternative to a taxi (60-90 minutes, highly variable with traffic on Bellary Road) remains the BMTC Vayu Vajra bus or the Vande Bharat Express to KSR station, followed by a short taxi. Those with a dawn flight or a short stopover do well to stay in Devanahalli; those working in the Hebbal or Manyata tech parks can halve the distance by staying halfway; those who want the evening life of MG Road have to accept a good hour of transfer.

Devanahalli, near the airport

About 7 km from the terminal, 15 minutes by car avoiding the highway into the city; some hotels offer their own shuttle on request.

Best for: Dawn or late-night flights and short stopovers, when every minute saved on Bellary Road counts more than anything else.

Pros
  • No risk from the heavy traffic on Bellary Road at rush hour
  • Noticeably lower prices than downtown, useful for a single night
Cons
  • The industrial area around the airport offers no evening life: you dine at the hotel
  • For any other stop in Bengaluru there are still 40 km to cover

Neighbourhood

Manyata Tech Park and Hebbal

About 43 minutes from the airport along Bellary Road/NH44; MG Road is then another 30-40 minutes further south.

Best for: Those who work in the Manyata or Embassy tech parks and want to halve the distance from both the airport and downtown.

Pros
  • An intermediate position: less distance from the airport than MG Road, less isolated than Devanahalli
  • The Embassy and Manyata office clusters with restaurants and cafés open late on weekdays
Cons
  • An area designed for work, not for tourism: no attractions within walking distance
  • At weekends many business-park venues close early

City centre

MG Road and Ulsoor

36-40 km from the airport, 60-90 minutes by taxi (900-1,800 rupees depending on traffic and operator); alternatives: the BMTC Vayu Vajra bus (60-100 minutes, 300 rupees) or the Vande Bharat Express to KSR Bengaluru City station in 45 minutes (450 rupees), followed by a short taxi.

Best for: Those who want Church Street, UB City and the evening life of downtown, accepting a good hour of transfer from the airport.

Pros
  • Cubbon Park, Church Street and the venues of MG Road reachable on foot or in a few minutes by taxi
  • The Vande Bharat Express stop at KSR is a real alternative to a taxi for those arriving from outside the city
Cons
  • No direct rail link from the airport until the metro opens
  • Traffic on MG Road makes transfers unpredictable at certain times of day
