Al Ain International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels
Al Ain International Airport is 18 km north-west of the city, about 20 minutes by car from the centre: a distance that makes almost all of Al Ain convenient for those arriving or leaving from here, with no need to stay close to the terminal. The real choice is between the city centre, where the international chains and the big shopping centres are, and the foot of Jebel Hafeet, the mountain on the southern outskirts with the Green Mubazzarah hot springs, further from the airport but handy for those wanting to combine the stay with a trip up the "most beautiful scenic road in the world".
Al Ain city centre
Neighbourhood · About 14-20 km and 15-35 minutes by car from the airport, depending on the chosen hotel.
Best for: Most travellers: all the city's international chains are here, 15-35 minutes from the airport.
Pros
- The only area of Al Ain with international chain hotels (Rotana, Radisson, Marriott)
- A few minutes from Al Jimi Mall, the zoo and the conference centre
Cons
- No view of Jebel Hafeet: for the mountain and the hot springs you need to leave the city
- Traffic on the main road can lengthen the basic 20 minutes from the airport
Recommended hotels in this area
- Al Ain Rotana: 242 rooms over 5 floors with two outdoor pools, mountain-view balconies and the Bodylines wellness centre with racquetball courts: the most complete urban resort in the city.
- Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort, Al Ain: 5 minutes from the city centre and 10 from the business district, about 35 minutes from the airport: the chain describes it as the reference point for those working in the area.
- Aloft by Marriott Al Ain: At Al Ain Square, 14 km from the airport: 175 rooms opened in 2016, 4 minutes from Al Jimi Mall and close to the zoo and the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
- Danat Al Ain Resort: 215 rooms with a balcony overlooking the gardens or Jebel Hafeet, 5 minutes from the centre and 20 from the airport: the most convenient base for a trip to the mountain without leaving the city.

Cons

Recommended hotels in this area
- Green Mubazzarah Chalets: Chalets with a kitchen run by the Green Mubazzarah park, about 1.2 km from the hot springs and 13 km from the centre of Al Ain, at the foot of Jebel Hafeet.
