Indianapolis International Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Indianapolis International is one of the best downtown-connected airports in the US: just 11 km, 15-20 minutes by car on I-70, with several hotels offering a free shuttle. It's worth staying in the airport area for an early-morning flight or a short stopover, perhaps with an event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, very close by. Those who want Monument Circle, the museums and the downtown venues prefer to sleep downtown, just a few minutes further. Those with business or shopping commitments to the north, toward Keystone Crossing, instead need to allow a good half hour of transfer from the terminal, on the opposite side of the city.

  • Close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for those with an event there
Cons
