Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

The airport, around 27 km from the centre of Shizuoka, has no railway station of its own: the only public link is the bus, which takes about 55 minutes to Shizuoka station (1,000 yen, around 12 runs a day between 11:00 and 21:00). That's why there's no convenient alternative near the terminals: anyone wanting a proper room has to head for Shizuoka station, the only place with a real choice of hotels and with Tokaido Shinkansen trains to the rest of Japan.
