Paris-Orly Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Orly is the closer of the two airports to Paris, just 13 km from the centre. Since June 2024 metro Line 14, extended to the terminal, covers the journey in 20-30 minutes; a valid alternative remains the Orlyval shuttle plus RER B from Antony, 30-35 minutes in total. Anyone with an early-morning flight, a short layover or heavy luggage is better off near the terminal or in the Rungis-Thiais area with a private shuttle; anyone wanting to visit Paris chooses a stop directly on Line 14. Not to be confused with Beauvais (BVA), a different airport with its own connections.

At the airport (Coeur d'Orly)

At the airport · Internal moving walkway linking the hotel to Terminals 3 and 4 in about 5 minutes on foot.

Best for: anyone with an early-morning flight or a short layover who doesn't want to move from the terminal.

Pros
  • Zero travel between hotel and gate, handy with heavy luggage
  • Useful for anyone arriving late at night or departing at dawn
Cons
  • Outside the hotel there's only the airport's commercial and office area
  • Prices are typically higher than in the areas just outside the airport grounds

Orly Town

Nearby town · The hotel's free shuttle to the terminal and the RER station, a few minutes by van.

  • More affordable prices than in the Rungis airport zone
Cons
  • Residential town with little to do in the evening
  • Less choice of restaurants than Rungis or Thiais

Antony and the Orlyval Station

Near the airport link · From the RER B station at La Croix-de-Berny, one stop to Antony, then the Orlyval shuttle to the terminal: 30-35 minutes in total.

Best for: anyone who prefers the classic RER B plus Orlyval rail connection to a hotel shuttle.

Pros
  • Antony is the hub where the Orlyval shuttle branches off from the RER B line
  • Quiet residential district with good value for money
Cons
  • You still need a change at Antony onto the Orlyval shuttle
  • Less suitable with very heavy luggage or little time between connections

Recommended hotels in this area

  • Hotel de Berny: A few minutes from the RER B station at La Croix-de-Berny, one stop before the Orlyval hub at Antony.
