Which lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth: guide by card and terminal

The right lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth depends less on your departure terminal than it might seem. Terminal D, the international one, gathers American's Flagship, the credit card lounges and the independent ones, and the Skylink connects it to the other terminals without going through security again. The first filter, then, is the card or ticket in your pocket.
Here the airport is the main base of American Airlines, and it shows: there is an Admirals Club in every terminal, open to the airline's premium passengers, to oneworld status holders, to club members and to those with the Citi AAdvantage Executive card. The ones in Terminals A and C also have a room for children, and next to the club in C there is an Executive Center with meeting rooms for those who need to work.

Those departing in international First or Business, or who are oneworld Emerald, head for the Flagship Lounge in Terminal D, between gates D22 and D23, with shower suites and day beds; there is also a single entry, payable in cash or in miles, but credit cards do not count here. Inside the Flagship is Flagship First Dining, the restaurant with table service reserved for Flagship First and Business Plus. Terminal D is also the kingdom of the credit cards. The American Express Centurion Lounge, opposite gate D12, has a southwestern menu signed by chef Dean Fearing, showers and a children's room; under the current rules guests must travel on the same flight as the cardholder, and those connecting have a limited stay. The Capital One Lounge, near D22, is designed for people who want to keep moving: Peloton bikes, a yoga room, nap pods and Texan-style dishes. It welcomes Venture X holders but also those who pay, as long as they do not arrive too early relative to their flight. Near D25 there is also the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club. With Priority Pass there is more than one way in. The Club DFW, on the mezzanine at D27, is divided into themed zones, including one for privacy and one for working, and has showers for a fee. The Plaza Premium Lounge at D16 combines buffet and à la carte cooking, and next to it Plaza Premium First, the brand's first in the United States, adds showers and personalised service: with Priority Pass you get in by paying a supplement. In Terminal E there is another Plaza Premium, with Texas-inspired furnishings. To sleep between two flights the answer is the Minute Suites, open day and night near gate A38 and opposite D23: private suites with a sofa bed, and with Priority Pass one hour is free. Those flying Delta or United have one club each in Terminal E: the Sky Club is small but has a power outlet at every seat.
To sum up: those travelling with American, or on a oneworld ticket, have an Admirals Club in their own terminal and, if departing abroad in a premium cabin, the Flagship in Terminal D. Those with an Amex Platinum or a Venture X find their card's lounge in Terminal D, and it is worth taking the Skylink there even when departing from elsewhere. With Priority Pass the best options are The Club and Plaza Premium, while to close your eyes for a few hours you need the Minute Suites.
