Suvarnabhumi lounges: how to choose based on your gate

At Suvarnabhumi the lounges are not gathered in a single spot: they stretch along the star-shaped concourses and reach all the way to the satellite. The choice, therefore, starts with the gate. Anyone travelling with Priority Pass or DragonPass will find a Coral or Miracle lounge in almost every arm of the terminal, while business-class passengers follow their own airline, often to Concourse D.
The first fork is between domestic and international flights, because the lounges are not shared. Those staying in Thailand have the Coral Executive Lounge in Concourse A, which includes a short shoulder massage subject to availability but allows only a fairly short stay, and the Miracle Lounge (Domestic) in Concourse D. Business-class passengers on Bangkok Airways, or those with FlyerBonus Premier status, use the Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Club Lounge (Domestic) instead, with reclining armchairs and private massage corners.

For international departures, the independent network of Miracle and Coral covers almost every concourse and accepts Priority Pass, DragonPass and paid entry. It is worth waiting until you know your gate: The Coral Finest Business Class Lounge sits next to the first gates of Concourse D, its Cocoon version is near gate C1, while Concourses A, F and G each have a Miracle lounge. The Coral Finest lounges in Concourses C and D and the Miracle Lounge (Satellite Terminal) stay open all night, a detail that matters with long-haul flights leaving late. Those without cards but willing to pay should look at the Oman Air Premium Lounge, between Concourses E and G: it sells entry even to passengers not flying with the airline, with a buffet at every hour, a free-flow bar and showers, within a stay limit of a few hours. Higher up the scale are the Plaza Premium First in Concourse G, with dishes prepared to order, cocktails and barista coffee, and The Coral First Class Lounge in D, the top tier of the Coral brand: for neither of the two does the data confirm entry with Priority Pass. With a premium ticket or a status, the airline decides. Thai Airways welcomes its passengers in the Thai Airways Royal Silk Lounge in Concourse D, which however does not cover night departures, and in the Thai Airways Royal Orchid Lounge in Concourse E, the one with showers; both admit premium Star Alliance passengers. Concourse D also hosts the Japan Airlines Sakura Lounge, with Japanese-style curry at the buffet, the Qatar Airways Premium Lounge with its brasserie and Global Deli, and Singapore Airlines' SilverKris Lounge. Further on, the EVA Air Lounge in Concourse F combines Chinese, Western and Thai cuisine, the noodle bar of the Cathay Pacific Lounge in G prepares wonton and tom yam to order, and the satellite's Emirates Lounge is presented by the airline as second in size only to its lounges in Dubai. The Air France - KLM Lounge also sells timed entries, with a discount for Flying Blue Silver members. A warning for those flying Bangkok Airways abroad: the Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Club Lounge (International) in Concourse D closes early, and those departing in the evening will find it already closed.
In short, at Suvarnabhumi you choose by starting from the gate and then from the way in. With Priority Pass or DragonPass the nearest Coral or Miracle lounge almost always does the job, and for a late-night departure it is best to aim for one of those open without interruption. Without cards, the Oman Air Premium Lounge offers showers and a buffet for a fee; with a business ticket, your own airline's lounge is the one to use, checking that it is still open at flight time.
