- Miramar Beach and the Mandovi river just steps from the upscale hotels
- Panaji remains more walkable than the touristy coast up north
- 30 km still means a good 40 minutes from the airport
- The most famous beaches, both north and south, require a further drive

- Beaches, beach shacks and evening markets (like the Saturday Night Market in Arpora) reachable on foot or in a few minutes
- Hotel offer ranging from Hilton's new economy brand to design resorts
- The transfer from the airport is the longest among all of Goa's zones, over an hour under normal conditions

Best for: Anyone who wants the wider, quieter beaches of the south, while staying relatively close to the airport.
- The transfer from the airport is the shortest among Goa's beach zones
- The beaches of Colva, Benaulim and Sernabatim are wider and less crowded than those in the north
- Nightlife much more limited than in Calangute or Baga
- Less choice of international hotels compared to the north or Panaji
