Bol Airport: where to stay, areas and recommended hotels

Brač airport sits on a plateau more than 500 metres above sea level, inland on the island: from here a winding mountain road drops down to Bol in about 20-25 minutes over 13-14 km, far longer than the few kilometres as the crow flies. It's a small airport, with mostly charter and seasonal flights from a handful of European cities, so travellers arriving here have almost always already booked a private transfer or arranged a shuttle with their accommodation: in Bol itself, a compact town facing the sea, everything is within comfortable walking distance of the harbour and the best-known beaches, including Zlatni Rat.

Nearby town · 13-14 km from the airport, 20-25 minutes by car or taxi along the mountain road that comes down from Veliko Žedno; since there's no direct public transport from the airport, almost all accommodations arrange a private transfer on request.

Best for: Travellers who want the harbour, Bol's beaches and Zlatni Rat on foot or with a short walk, without evenings out in Split's nightlife.
